Our Team:
Dr. Thomas Bendu
Dr. Bendu is the Founder and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of WGCS. He is an accomplished Social Work and Public Health Practitioner with over 25 years of experience in public mental health and child welfare systems. He possesses high-level skills in data collection, analysis, integration, and interpretation, and has participated in research studies on public health trends and health disparities in the African American communities. Dr Bendu has conducted research and examined the influence of social support and substance use on mental health among African Americans. He has managed teams for social service agencies and has served in leadership roles as a Supervisor and Case Manager for social and human services agencies.
He serves in another role as a Licensed Counselor employing his expertise in trauma-informed care and evidence-based interventions. Bendu currently provides psychotherapeutic counseling services to individuals and families in an outpatient mental health setting.
Dr. Bendu’s postgraduate education includes a Doctor of Public Health (DrPH) and a Master of Public Health (MPH) from Walden University, and a Master of Social Work from Howard University, Washington, D.C.
He is a Fellow of the African Institute of Public Health Professionals (AIPHP), a continental assembly of healthcare professionals of diverse disciplines and cultural identities, bonded with the determination to reduce the burden of diseases in Africa
Mrs. Ramzia Bendu
Ramzia Bendu has been working in the healthcare industry for over 20 years. She is an experienced trainer in healthcare policies and procedures, and quality assurance auditing measures for an efficient and effective workforce. Ms. Bendu has a vast knowledge in HIPAA, Patient Compliance and Patient procedures. Ms. Bendu streamlined processes, reducing wait time and enhancing overall care. Her commitment to maintaining high standards and delivering exceptional quality in her work. Before that, Ms Bendu worked in several roles in the database industry, where she was the key contact for Quality Control.
In her new role as Director of Operations for Wellness Group Consulting Services LLC, she brings and invest in healthcare management skills. Ms .Bendu is a graduate of the University of Maryland with a Bachelor's in Management of Business Law and Public Policy in 2007. She later received her Master's in Management Healthcare Administration in 2010. She is a certified Diabetes Educator.
